| I am an associate professor at Columbia College Chicago where I am the coordinator of the Game Design Programming Concentration major. Before joining the faculty of Columbia College in 2003, I served two years as an Information Technology Peace Corps Volunteer in Belize, Central America and taught in the Computer Science Department at the University of Belize. My research focuses on finding new and innovative ways to attract women and minorities to careers in computer science by developing new ideas on the use of technology and new forms of serious gaming. I have published and presented several papers on the subject and have received two grants to further my work. I am also committed to public service as evidenced by my volunteer work in Belize for the Peace Corps and Namibia for World Teach.
