The Television Department of Columbia College Chicago and the Chicago Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences invites you to the second annual Sharon Palermo Scholarship Fundraising Reception.

In 2006, we began to establish a scholarship in memory of Sharon Palermo, wife of long-time faculty member Luke, who sadly passed in 2005. Luke’s contributions to Columbia College, the Academy, and the Chicago community over the last twenty-plus years have been many, and his wife of thirty years was integral to these activities. Sharon chose to work in education and she was committed to the development of the young men and women she encountered. A scholarship in her name is a fitting way to honor Sharon’s life and the great love many share for her still. This past year the Sharon Palermo Scholarship granted two $4000 student awards.

Sharon lived life with great joy, and last year we celebrated her love of mystery novels and Scrabble with a successful inaugural event at Columbia. This year we are celebrating Sharon’s love for the sights, sounds, and larger-than-life fun of Las Vegas. We look forward to you joining us for an afternoon of old school, Rat Pack style entertainment! Cocktails will be served at 2pm, and our silent action is sure to offer a little something special for everyone. Bring your loved ones to our “City of Lights” and play with us among the stars.
